What to compare besides tube diameter

Diameter is one part of a chime's construction. Tube length, wall thickness, material, and tuning also matter to its sound. Avoid choosing on the basis of a single measurement or the promise of the “deepest” tone. Compare the specific models and listen before deciding.

• Overall hanging length: the space occupied by the complete chime. This is different from an individual tube's length.
• Tube dimensions: diameter and length describe different parts of the tube. If a dimension matters to your purchase and is not listed, ask us to confirm it.
• Musical character: listen for the pitch and the combination of notes you enjoy. A larger-looking chime is not enough to establish your preference.
• Installation: check the selected model's hanging requirements and leave room for moving parts to clear nearby surfaces.

Listen to a concrete comparison
